The ASUS PRIME B450M-A II Micro-ATX motherboard has a PCI Express 3.0 slot with full x16 connection for gaming graphics cards. The mainboard provides two PCIe x1 slots for additional expansion cards. The two RAM banks support up to 32 GB DDR4 main memory with a clock rate of up to 2,666 megahertz and can even handle clock rates of up to 3,200 MHz via OC.

An M.2 slot is provided by the AM4 mainboard. It is connected with four PCI Express lanes or the SATA6G protocol and accepts plug-in cards up to 80 millimeters in length. M.2 SSDs with the advanced NVM Express protocol (NVMe) and a connection via four PCI Express 3.0 lanes are up to eight times as fast as SATA 6G hard drives and support data transfer rates of up to 32 Gbit / s.
