Dual-Fan Cooler Design & Factory Overclocking

The ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 Dual 6G has a base clock of 1.506 MHz. GPU Boost 3.0 allows the base clock to be increased to a boost clock of 1.708 MHz. The GPU Tweak II software allows the ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 Dual 6G to switch to "OC" mode. The OC mode increases the base clock to 1.594 MHz and the boost clock to 1.809 MHz. The memory is clocked at 4.004 MHz (8.008 MHz effective). The cooling of the graphics card is provided by adual-fan cooler design with a white cooler shroud.

The 6 GB GDDR5-VRAM of the GTX 1060 is connected to the GPU via the 192-Bit memory interface, achieving a throughput of up to 192 GB/s. The GP106 GPU comes with 1.280 Shader Units, called CUDA cores by NVIDIA.

The GTX 1060 series of graphics cards supports DirectX 12 as well as current gaming technologies like NVIDIA Ansel, Gameworks, Warp, Stereo X, BR Audio, PhysX and SMP (Simultaneous Multi Projection). SMP 4.0 offers huge advantages for VR, curved displays and multi-display setups.

Thanks to SMP 4.0 Pascal now supports 16 simultaneous Viewports thus allowing fundamentally more realistic graphics on multiple monitors, curved displays, or in 3D applications. Virtual Reality (VR) particularly benefits from the new technology as it supports the simultaneous rendering of twi Viewports in a single pass. By using multiple Viewports the rendered image requires a smaller number of pixel calculations, massively increasing performance in VR applications.

The GeForce GTX 1060 works with a TDP of just 120 Watts, and a power supply capable of supplying at least 400 Watts is recommended. The GeForce GTX 1060 offers an HDMI 2.0b port, three DisplayPort 1.4 connectors and a Dual-Link DVI output. The HDMI port supports up to HDCP 2.2 and is capable of sending and receiving encrypted signals.

In order to exploit the full potential of the card in the long term, downloading and installing new drivers from NVIDIA or ASUS at regular intervals is recommended.
