The burner leaves it up to the user which medium he wants to use to save his data. From the good old CD-R to the DVD-RAM or M-DISC DVD, the wish is his command. The slim drive with the drawer is very easy to use.

With the SDRW-08U1MT, ASUS offers a compact slimline drive that shines with multiple read and write functions. At the same time, the manufacturer has managed to make the burner as small as possible and, at just 152 g, it is also as light as a feather. The SDRW-08U1MT reads DVD-ROMs / CD-ROMs with up to 8x / 24x speed. DVD-R, + R or + RW media are written by the ASUS Drive at 8 times the speed. In addition to being used in notebooks, it is therefore ideal for smaller cases or HTPCs (note this).

Thanks to the drive's DVD-RAM support, hard drive-like overwriting is possible at five times the speed, up to 100,000 times. Due to the long service life of the DVD-RAM media, the SDRW-08U1MT is ideally suited as a backup burner. But of course it also performs all other tasks, such as copying videos, audio files or photos onto the disc, reliably and without compromise and uses SATA to transfer the data, so it can fall back on a theoretical transfer rate of 150 MB / s.

Long-term archiving thanks to support for M-DISC
The ASUS SDRW-08U1MT slimline DVD burner is also able to write and read M-DISC data carriers in DVD-R format. M-DISC is a special data carrier format with inorganic writing coating, which is suitable for long-term data archiving due to its high durability. The M in the name M-DISC stands for "Millennium", since the storage period should be up to 1,000 years if properly stored.

Notes: This drive is bulk goods and comes without retail packaging. In order to use the drive with conventional SATA connectors, an adapter is required, which is not included in the scope of delivery. For example, the article ZUSA-115 in the Caseking range can be used for this.
