Seagate SkyHawk HDD, SATA 6G, 7200RPM, 3.5 inch - 3TB [ST3000VX010]

These three terabytes of data volume (3TB = 3,000 GB) of the SkyHawk HDD series are specifically designed for continuous operation and the developers have been particularly focused on the use of video surveillance systems. For this, the hard disk has to fulfill two things: first, it has to work extremely reliably; secondly, it must be fast to record video streams loss-free.

Both are given at the Seagate SkyHawk. The 3.5-inch HDD is robust and consistently designed and is advertised by Seagate with an enormous mean lifetime (MTBF) of one million hours. On the other hand, the HDD is very fast (up to 180 MB / s persistent data throughput) thanks to 64 MB cache, SATA-6G interface and 7,200 rpm, so that even multiple camera streams (up to 64 cameras) can be recorded at the same time.
