Details

The "Pascal" GPU architecture has many improvements over its predecessor "Maxwell". In the GTX 1080 for the first time comes, the new GDDR5X video RAM used. The GTX 1080 is the absolute must-have for gamers and enthusiasts!
The features of Gainward GeForce GTX 1080 Phoenix GLH Overview

2 Fan Cooler Phoenix Design
High base clock of the GPU: 1746 MHz
Huge Boost clock of the GPU: 1885 MHz
Very fast memory clock: 5.250 MHz (effectively 10,500 MHz)
Power Connectors: 1x 8 pin, 1x 6-pin
GTX 1080 from Gainward with Phoenix cooler and LED lighting

The Gainward GeForce GTX 1080 Phoenix GLH (Goes Like Hell) has a base clock of 1,746 MHz. With GPU Boost 3.0 this can be increased if necessary to a boost clock of 1,885 MHz. The memory clock is 5,250 MHz (effectively 10,500 MHz). For the cooling of the graphics card, the 2-Fan Phoenix cooler design is used.

This NVIDIA GPU Boost 3.0 can access as well as possible, it is important that the electronics of the card stays as cool as possible. Therefore Gainward relies on its own "Phoenix" -Kühlerdesign with several heatpipes, a large aluminum radiator and two large axial fans that ensure you always have enough fresh air is available to cool the GPU, voltage converters, RAM and Co.. Below 60 degrees GPU temperature they remain even completely stand ( "0 db tech"), so that the card in Idle is passive and therefore completely silent cooled.

New to the Phoenix cooler design is the integrated LED lighting. The black-red-golden radiator cover now has a LED light whose colors change in accordance with the utilization of the graphics card.
GeForce GTX 1080: Maximum Gaming Power for VR and 4K!

The 8 GB GDDR5X video memory of the GTX 1080 are connected via a 256-bit memory interface to the GPU, thereby forming a memory bandwidth of 320 Gb / s is achieved. In addition to the video memory the 2,560 CUDA cores of GP104 graphics chips for the awesome gaming power of GeForce GTX 1080 are responsible.

The GTX-1080 series of graphics cards supporting DirectX 12 and the latest gaming technologies, including NVIDIA GameWorks, Warp, stereo X, VR-Audio, PhysX and SMP (Simultaneous Multi-Projection). The latter is supported in version 4.0 and provides mainly for VR, Curved displays and multi-display setups great benefits.

Multiple monitors were simply viewed games as a kind of wide monitor, whereby the GPU only below renders a viewport and could result in distortions. Thanks SMP Pascal now supports 16 simultaneous viewports, allowing a much more realistic representation on multiple monitors, on Curved displays or in 3D mode.

Especially VR benefits from the new technology, because it may be the same two viewports are rendered in a single pass. By utilizing multiple viewports the rendered image also comes out with a lower number of calculated pixels, which increases the energy in VR mode improved enormously.

Despite the extremely high computing power and the memory configuration with 8GB GDDR5X the GeForce GTX 1080 works with a TDP of only 180 watts, which is more in comparison to the direct predecessor GTX 980 only 15 watts - at a significantly higher speed. Thanks to the renewed power of the PCB GTX 1080, because by the new five-phase supply of the GPU and the various optimizations on PCB energy efficiency increases compared to the GTX 980 by a whopping six percent.
The GeForce GTX 1080 has the most modern terminals. For an image transfer of 4K / Ultra HD resolutions at 60 Hertz three DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0b port are available, the latter has HDCP 2.2, and thus send encrypted signals and receive (4K Blu -Rays / 4K streams). Alternatively, has the GTX 1080 a DVI-D (Dual Link) output.

In order to exploit the full potential of the card in the future, new drivers from NVIDIA or Gainward should be downloaded and installed at regular intervals.
