The reservoir of Aqualis series are equipped with a tube made of borosilicate glass, which in contrast to the frequently used Plexiglas tube reservoir is a very high hardness and abrasion resistance, very low thermal expansion and excellent chemical and thermal resistance. The glass tube has an outer diameter of 75 mm and a wall thickness of 5 mm. Bases and covers the Aqualis series are made of Delrin, top and bottom connected by a nickel-plated brass tube. A visual highlight is the integrated water column effect. If the return line to the central port of Aqualis connected, the water flows through the central brass tube to the lid and shall there by eight holes, which is particularly associated with lighting a real eye-catcher. A thin Plexiglas plate near the bottom of Aqualis reduce air entry into the circulation to a minimum. Alternatively can be connected to the return to a side port, the water then flows out of the ground back into the surge tank. For this configuration comes with a baffle, which in turn ensures good ventilation of the cycle.

The Aqualis PRO versions have an additional built-in floor plexiglass window and provides space for the installation of up to six LEDs (type 5 mm) and is also pre-equipped for the subsequent installation of a level measurement.

The Aqualis XT variants also have one in the ground built plexiglass window and provides space for the installation of up to six LEDs (type 5 mm) and is also equipped with an electronic level measurement with USB and aquabus interface, a configurable alarm output and an external temperature sensor input equipped. For monitoring and configuring the software is aquasuite available for download. The four-pole aquabus interface also allows direct connection to a aquaero 5 controller (not included). The alarm output can be configured either as an artificial speed signal for connection to a fan tachometer output signal processing (such as the motherboard) or timer output, for example, an LED for switching on alarm. For alarm monitoring in addition to the measured level are also the external temperature sensor input. The external temperature sensor input is compatible with all computers offered by Aqua compatible temperature sensors.

All versions are also available with a nano-coating available, the water from inside the glass tube can be easily repelled.
