Overview

The ASUS USB-AC54 AC1300 WLAN adapter offers a very high speed wireless connection with the 802.11ac standard, dual-band technology and up to 867 Mbps to 5 GHz as well as 400 Mbps to 2.4 GHz Transmission. Thanks to this enormous speed, constant streaming of HD-quality content is possible. Despite this improved bandwidth and signal coverage, the USB-AC54 is fully backwards compatible with older WLAN routers, but it is recommended to use a corresponding ASUS AC router to enable full 867 Mbps. The ASUS USB-AC54 is also excited by the support of high-speed USB 3.0, which means that delays due to the USB interface are no longer to be expected. The fast-paced standard is nearly exhausted by the USB-AC54 WLAN. The WLAN Stick uses the fifth generation 802.11ac chipset to achieve the enormous speeds in the 5 GHz frequency band. The 256QAM technology increases the wireless N data transfer rate from 300Mbps to 400Mbps, achieving a 33% faster performance. This makes it incredibly three times faster than the high-end adapters according to the 802.11n standard. With the dual-band technology of the ASUS USB-AC54, content can be transferred specifically via WLAN. The stick offers the possibility to direct resource-intensive files, such as high-resolution films, to the 5 GHz AC WLAN band. The advantage is that the 5 GHz band is hardly exposed to interfering influences.

The WPS (Wifi Protected Setup) function makes it easy to set up a secure WLAN. All you have to do is press the WPS button on the router and the USB-AC54. Router and Stick now automatically a secure WLAN password. The scope of delivery includes a stand with cable, as well as a clip for attachment to the monitor or notebook.
