This third revision of ASUS TUF Sabertooth 990FX connects to up to three AMD or NVIDIA graphics cards, including three PCIe 2.0 x16 slots are available, two of which are electrically connected with full 16 data lines. As Triple-SLI / CrossFireX team the three GPUs with 16, 8 and 8 lanes are driven. Further still are a tailed with 4 lanes PCIe 2.0 x16 slot and two additional PCIe 2.0 x1 slots for expansion cards. In addition, this motherboard supports thanks to 8 + 2-phase power supply, the AMD FX processor 9000 series with its TDP of 220 watts and therefore have full access on the market AM3 and AM3 + CPUs.
ASUS Aura RGB LED lighting

The main selling point is the built ASUS Aura RGB LED lighting that allows the PCI Express slots five customizable lighting effects in all colors of the rainbow: monochrome-static, color change, strobe (monochrome), breathing / Breathing and pulsating music. Up to 32 GB of DDR3 RAM refer to the four RAM banks, where appropriate memory can run at a maximum of 1,866 MHz. A highlight ASUS TUF Sabertooth R3.0 is also that there are on the I / O shield on the back of the motherboard four brand new USB 3.1 ports with a type-C and three type-A connectors, provided by the ASMedia additional chip. The new USB Type-C port is particularly thin and can finally be connected at both ends. USB 3.1 is commonly associated with the maximum attainable speed of 10 Gbit / s twice as fast as USB 3.0.
