The MSI B450 Tomahawk Max II is an AMD B450 motherboard in ATX form factor and provides a PCIe x16 slot for expansion cards. This is connected directly to the CPU with a total of 16 lanes and supports PCIe 3.0. There is also a PCIe 2.0 x16 slot and three PCIe 2.0 x1 slots for expansion cards.

random access memory
The four DIMM slots support up to 128 GB DDR4 memory with a clock rate of up to 2,667 MHz. Using OC, however, the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max II also enables RAM kits to be operated up to 4,133 MHz.

Drives
The MSI B450 Tomahawk Max II offers an M.2 slot for fast NVMe SSDs. This is connected directly to the CPU with 4 lanes and supports PCIe 3.0. Six SATA 6G connections are available for additional SSDs, hard disks and optical drives.

USB, network and sound
On the I / O panel, the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max II has two USB 3.1 ports (1x type C, 1x type A) with 10 Gbit / s, two USB 3.0 ports (type A) with 5 Gbit / s and two USB 2.0 ports. In addition, the mainboard is equipped with a LAN with 1 GBit / s (Realtek RTL8111H) for fast data transfers. The integrated Realtek ALC892 / ALC897 audio codec sound chip ensures rich 7.1 surround sound.
