The ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070 AMP! Core Edition has a base clock of 1.607 MHz. With GPU-Boost 3.0 it can be increased to a boost clock of 1.795 MHz. The memory clock is at 4,000 MHz (effectively 8,000 MHz). The ice-cooler design is used to cool the graphics card.

To ensure that NVIDIA's GPU Boost 3.0 is as good as possible, it is important that the electronics of the board remain as cool as possible, so ZOTAC uses its own "IceStorm" cooler design with several heatpipes, a large-area cooling block made of aluminum fins and three large axial fans that ensure that there is always enough fresh air to cool GPU, voltage transformers, RAM and more. In addition, the PCB is stabilized by a backplate.

The 8 GB video memory of the GeForce GTX 1070 is connected to the GPU via a 256-bit memory interface. The GP104 graphics chip of the GTX 1070 has 1,920 CUDA cores and the computing performance of the GTX 1070 is 6.5 TFLOPS. This makes the GeForce GTX 1070 in computing power slightly above the GeForce GTX Titan X, the flagship of the Maxwell GPU series!

The GTX-1070 graphics card family supports DirectX 12 and current gaming technologies, including NVIDIA GameWorks, Warp, Stereo-X, VR-Audio, PhysX and SMP (Simultaneous Multi-Projection). The latter is supported in version 4.0 and offers great advantages, especially for VR, curved displays and multi-display setups.

Particularly when gambling in the Virtual Reality (VR), gamers profit from the new technology. With SMP 4.0, a total of 16 viewports and two viewports can be rendered in one run. By using multiple viewports, the rendered image also comes with a smaller number of calculated pixels, which greatly improves VR performance.

The GeForce GTX 1070 is capable of transmitting 4K / ultra-HD resolutions at 60 Hertz over three DisplayPort-1.4 and an HDMI 2.0b connection, the latter having HDCP 2.2, which allows it to send and receive encrypted signals ( 4K Blu-Ray / 4K streams). Alternatively, the GTX 1070 has a DVI-D (dual-link) output.

In order to make full use of the card's full potential, new drivers from NVIDIA or ZOTAC should be downloaded and installed at regular intervals.
