Overview

Mini-STX is a relatively new form factor for motherboards and closes the gap between NUC boards and mini ITX boards. The advantage over NUCs is an LGA socket for desktop processors, while the main board is 14.7 x 14 cm smaller than the mini ITX form factor. This gives Mini-STX-Mainboards a basis for extreme computing power in a small space. Like the SST-VT01B Vital Mini STX housing, these enclosures are usually so small that they can be attached to the back of monitors or televisions via VESA mount.

The Silverstone SST-VT01B Vital Mini-STX housing
The Silverstone vital-housing series has been specially developed for Intel's mini-STX mainboard series. As the first model of the series, the VT01 offers a good passive cooling performance and allows the installation of 34 mm high CPU coolers, which is very generous for this form factor. The entire case is only 1.53 liters "big", but because it can accommodate a desktop CPU, hides itself here enormous performance potential.

At the front are two slots for the audio connectors as well as a USB 3.0 port. Another USB type C connector completes the front panel. Similar to many NUCs, the SST-VT01B Vital Mini-STX enclosure can be mounted directly to a screen or a TV via a VESA mount.
