The Sapphire Pulse ITX Radeon RX 570 8G in Detail

The Radeon RX 570 is AMD's premium HD gaming graphics card from the RX 500 graphics card series and is especially attractive when paired with a FreeSync 2 monitor. The Polaris 20 GPU of the RX 570 is a "refresh" of the Polaris 10 in the RX 470 and offers the same number of Shaders (Compute Units), 2.048, as its predecessor. Thanks to manufacturing process optimisations the Radeon RX 570 also offers higher maximum boost clocks than its equivalent in the RX 400 series.

Based on AMD's fourth-gen GCN architecture and manufactured in the 14 nm FinFET-LPP process, the Radeon RX 570 also has a very low TDP of just 150 Watts. This is possible thanks to significant improvements in clock control, power saving and clock frequency technology, especially compared to the card's direct predecessors like the Radeon R9 390 with its markedly higher TDP of 250 Watts.

The 4th-gen Graphics Core Next Architecture (GCN 1.3) introduces features such as a command processor, a geometry processor, new multimedia cores, an optimised display engine as well as an improved memory controller. Some of the supported technologies include Async Compute, Vulkan, DirectX 12 and AMD's FreeSync 2 technology.

Monitors can be connected to the graphics card via DVI-D, Display-Port or HDMI. EyeFinity technology enables up to four monitors to be connected in a multi-display setup. The HDMI connector utilises HDCP 2.2 for sending and receiving protected content.

In order for the card to reach its maximum potential, new drivers should be downloaded and installed at regular intervals from the AMD or Sapphire websites.
