 Joy-IT's Raspberry Gamestation Retro Pi powers the Raspeberry Pi with a joystick and nine arcade buttons. The kit is packaged in a smart, transparent case with stylish RGB LED lighting, just like the game consoles used to play Pacman or Spaceinvaders for coins.

The self-assembling kit comes with a stylish transparent acrylic case. There are recesses for the joystick and the nine buttons, which can be configured for firing or jumping depending on the game. The controls are connected to an enclosed board, which is reconnected to the GPIO pins of the Raspberry Pi. There is also space in the case for a potentiometer to control the stylish RGB lighting that comes with the bundle.

The Raspberry Pi, which forms the basis of the Raspberry Gamestation Retro Pi, is the current version 3 Model B. Its core is the SoC BCM2837 from Broadcom with four ARM Cortex-A53 cores, each of which can be clocked at up to 1.2 GHz , The main memory is 1 GB. The integrated GPU is a VideoCore IV, which also comes from Broadcom and offers a FullHD resolution with a clock frequency of 1200 MHz. The Raspberry PI has an HDMI slot. The board is installed in the housing so that an HDMI cable can be connected from the outside.
Dozens of emulators for hundreds of games
Also included in the kit is a micro-SD card preloaded with a matching Linux distribution that already includes dozens of emulators, including Amiga, Atari 2600, 5200 and 7800, Commodore 64, Gameboy in the base version and Color and Advance, Nintendo 64, DS and Entertainment System, the Playstation 1, Sega 32X, CD and SD-1000 and the Super Nintendo Entertaiment system to name but a few. You can dangle games like Pacman, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, Breakout, Street Fighter or Super Mario.

In addition to the Raspberry Pi, the joystick, the buttons, the LinkerKit baseboard and the RGB lighting, the kit includes of course all the necessary cables as well as a power supply and an HDMI cable. Also included are screws and glue for assembly.
