This is useful, for example, if you often want to install and remove different graphics cards and do not want to damage the board slot, or would like more space when commissioning the expansion cards.

It may also be necessary or useful to place PCI-Express expansion cards in unusual places in the case of modding projects or housings deviating from the usual ATX standard. For example, the PH-CBRS-FL30 can connect a vertically mounted graphics card to the motherboard in a chassis already equipped with vertical PCI expansion slots at the factory. The 180 degree riser cable leads the PCIe slot straight to the contacts. So the cooler of the card can come to full advantage.
