The MSI MAG B560M Mortar is a Micro-ATX mainboard with an Intel B560 chipset and provides a total of two PCIe x16 slots for expansion cards. The upper slot is connected directly to the CPU with 16 lanes and supports PCIe 4.0. The lower slot is connected to the chipset with 4 lanes and supports PCIe 3.0. An additional PCIe x1 slot is also connected to the chipset with PCIe 3.0.

random access memory
Up to 128 GB DDR4 memory can be operated in four DIMM slots in dual-channel mode. With activated RAM-OC via XMP, the MSI MAG B560M Mortar enables the operation of RAM kits up to 5066 MHz.

Drives
The MSI MAG B560M Mortar offers a total of two M.2 slots for SSDs. One of them is connected directly to the CPU via PCIe 4.0. The other M.2 slot is connected to the chipset via PCIe 3.0 and takes its 4 lanes from the second PCIe x16 slot. If both are to be used, the second PCIe x16 slot in the BIOS must be changed to x1 and the M.2_2 slot to x2. Six SATA 6G connections are also available for additional SSDs, hard disks and optical drives.

USB, network and sound
With HDMI and DisplayPort, the I / O panel provides two video outputs for image output via the processor's iGPU. One USB-C, three USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports are available for gaming peripherals. The audio output is via a 3.5 mm jack plug or the optical S / PDIF connection, which is connected to the onboard sound chip ALC897.
