The socket 1151 of this mainboard supports CPUs of the 9000 and 8000 series and the H310 chipset forms a solid foundation for entry-level game PCs and home office computers. The H310 chipset natively supports four SATA ports as well as four USB 3.0 and six USB 2.0 ports. Depending on the mainboard, USB 3.1 ports and M.2 slots with PCIe connection can also be provided.

The MSI H310M Pro-M2 Plus Micro-ATX motherboard has a PCIe-x16 slot that is connected to the chipset with a full 16 lanes. The board also has two PCIe x1 slots for additional plug-in cards. A maximum of 32 GB of RAM with a clock rate of up to 2,666 MHz can be accommodated in two DDR4 DIMM slots. Drives such as SSDs, HDDs and optical drives can be connected via four SATA 3.0 ports.

The MSI H310M Pro-M2 Plus provides two USB 3.0 slots and four USB 2.0 slots on the I / O panel for connecting peripheral devices. VGA, DVI and HDMI connections for image playback via the processor's integrated graphics unit are also located on the I / O panel. The mainboard has three 3.5 mm jack outputs for the output of the on-board sound, while a LAN socket enables integration into a network. Internally, the mainboard has a USB 2.0 and 3.0 header.
