Darkfield technology
Optical sensors and laser sensors have a particularly difficult time on extremely smooth and transparent surfaces. Since the direction of movement is traced using unevenness in the surface and these are hardly present, there are simply no reference points for precise scanning.

The solution to the problem is called Darkfield, which refers to an innovative scanning system for PC mice. This makes it possible to solve a major problem with modern sensors. Now that the resolution is no longer a limiting factor, the scanning accuracy on different surfaces often proves to be a limitation.

The modern darkfield scan does not scan the unevenness of the surface, but rather microscopic particles and scratches. The transparent glass plate is perceived as a dark background and the identified structures as light spots. The sensor ultimately evaluates the movement of these spots and uses this to calculate the direction. Featuring Logitech's most accurate sensor, the MX Anywhere 3S delivers next-level precision and responsiveness.

Optimized for mobile use
Darkfield technology is particularly effective in mobile use. This allows you to use it from anywhere, be it on a plane, on a glass table, wooden table or even on a carpet.

What also makes mobile use easier is the wireless connection of the mouse. You can easily charge the MX Anywhere 3S via USB-C. The mouse is then connected to the PC or MAC using either the included USB dongle or directly via Bluetooth and is immediately ready for use.

What's practical here is that you can pair the mouse with three devices, meaning you can easily switch between the devices you use frequently at any time without having to stress about re-pairing.
