Lian Li DK-03X Desktop Housing - Black [DK-03X]

On the other hand, it is a real, functional desk with a glass worktop, in which the housing was integrated for two computer systems.

In this respect, both terms - desktop housing and housing table - absolutely justified. But whatever you want to call the black Lian Li DK-03X, it is definitely spectacular, something very special and definitely a noble modding dream.

The customers of Lian Li are used to a lot of quality. Be it the use of high-quality materials such as the ever-present brushed aluminum or the always decoupled drive bays. Also with the DK-03X Lian Li has combined high quality materials with sophisticated technology and attention to detail.

The DK-03 was designed in the usual brushed aluminum look of Lian Li, so the table legs, which are height-adjustable up to 30 mm, are made of aluminum as well as the rest of the table. A removable glass plate provides an insight into the interior of the housing table. With the size of the table case you should not be surprised by the 50 kilograms of dead weight.

If you want to illuminate your housing table with LEDs, you will find the receptacle for an optional RGB controller in the front part of the housing. To avoid overlooking the installed hardware, monitors can be equipped with up to four optional VESA arms at the back of the table. Attached to the right side of the DK-03 are devices for hanging keyboards and headsets.

As already mentioned, two systems can be integrated in the DK-03X. The system on the left (hereinafter referred to as system 1) is intended for Mini-ITX boards, which is why it also correspondingly less space available than System 2 in the right side. In the right sides motherboards can be installed in the form factors E-ATX, ATX-, Micro-ATX and also Mini-ITX, where both mainboard trays can be removed separately for convenient installation.

In addition to a Slim-Slot drive bezel, the front left panel also has two USB 3.0 ports, two audio jacks, and a power switch, while the right-hand front panel has four USB thumb drives next to the slim-slot drive bezel. 3.0 ports, two audio jacks, and a power switch for System 2 and a lock are located. The lock is there because the table housing can be extended like a drawer and thus releases the interior of the housing.

Even with graphics cards, users will not have space problems with System 2: GPUs can be up to 440 mm long. The same applies to power supplies. In the left side for system 1 power supplies up to 160 mm in length can be installed. CPU coolers can still be up to 90 mm high on both sides. For system 2, there are four PCI-lays for expansion cards, while in compact system 1 no expansion cards are provided

As a little peculiarity when installing graphics cards in System 2, it should be noted that these are installed laterally turned in the DK-03X and must therefore be connected to the motherboard using the enclosed PCIe 3.0 x16 riser cable. Thanks to this ingenious technique, the overall height of the component chamber of the table has been reduced, which allows a much more comfortable working at the table.

For optical drives, one slim slot is offered per system. If you do not need it, you can install a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard drive there. System 1 also offers the option of adding two more 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch hard drives, while System 2 can accommodate a total of seven 2.5-inch SSDs or 3.5-inch HDDS. In addition, mounting rails are included for a total of three HDD brackets. These can be mounted on the holes for the hard drives and hold either three 3.5-inch or four 2.5-inch data memories.

The DK-03X comes with eight pre-installed 120 mm fans. Four of them are on the right side and another four are on the left side of the case. Optionally, up to four additional 120 fan can be installed in the back, however, these fans share the bay with one VESA mount each. Conveniently, removable dust filters are also attached to the two sides.

The pre-installed fans in the left side suck in cool fresh air, while the fans on the right side blow out the warm air and thus ensure sufficient airflow in the housing (table). Alternatively, the fans on the right side can be replaced by a radiator with a maximum size of 120 x 480 mm.
