Design & assembly of the CM430 fan controller

The CM430 fan controller from Lamptron can be quickly and easily screwed into a 5.25 inch slot. Thanks to the four screws supplied, it finds a secure hold and complements the computer with a practical solution for the regulation of built-in fans. The black frame impresses with its optics of brushed aluminum and borders the red-blue illuminated LCD touch screen in a perfect way.

A total of three standard (3-pin) and one PWM (4-pin) fans can be connected, the latter also being replaced by a standard fan. In addition to the 4-pin cable and the three 3-pin cables, the scope of supply also includes a total of four temperature sensors. The fan control is powered by a 4-pole Molex connector, which is not included.

Functions of the CM430 fan control

The display of the fan control offers a variety of information and configuration options. In addition to a power-on / off-switch, there is the possibility to switch between the four available channels on the right-hand side. The selected channel is displayed again in large format. The center of the display shows the current speed of the fan in the form of a tachometer. To the left is the temperature and a changeable speed, volt or percent display.

The CM430 fan controller also offers the possibility to make all settings manually or to select the automatic operation. In addition, the brightness of the lighting can be adjusted in three steps (100%, 50% or 0%). After the fan control is switched on, the lighting is set to 100% by default. In automatic mode, it turns off after three minutes.

The CM430 is also equipped with an alarm function, which can warn the user if the temperature is too low or too high. This feature is quick and easy to configure, and can also be disabled or disabled easily. It is also possible to switch between the "Quiet" and "Fullpower" modes, even after cooling requirements.

Note: 4-pin PWM fans can also be connected to the three 3-pin connectors instead of standard fans. However, these can then only be regulated via the voltage.
