In all cases, the starting point for noise is a specific form of movement or vibration that causes air to vibrate, but is also transmitted via the hardware itself and in turn stimulates air elsewhere. Fan rotation, for example, leads to vibrations that are transmitted via the frame and the air to the PC housing, which stimulate it to resonate, which also makes it a source of noise.

This shows a fundamental phenomenon of the limitation of other noise reduction measures. They usually only address one side of the problem - the vibration transmission via direct contact - and hide the transmission via air. Insulation mats initially contribute to noise reduction through their sheer weight. Because they increase the mass of the outer parts of the housing, which is why the panels do not vibrate as much with the same energy - i.e. vibration source.

But insulation mats go beyond this by also preventing air vibrations from affecting the housing. The particularly soft material absorbs incoming sound waves and thus prevents them from vibrating the outer walls, while at the same time rapidly reducing the reflected sound.

As a result, they achieve an effect using two methods and are therefore, in principle, more effective than conventional measures. This makes them the ideal solution for noise reduction and the best way to reduce PC noise.

The insulation mats are high quality products made in Germany and are also used for cabin construction. Their acoustic insulation effect is therefore also tried and tested in industrial solutions. They consist of soft PUR ester acoustic foam, which has been finely perforated with artificial leather on the top. The mats are visually appealing, largely dirt-resistant and can be washed off. The bottom is self-adhesive.

Sound absorption is particularly effective in the frequency range from 1,800 to 3,500 Hz. Between 1,200 and 6,000 Hz, more than 40 percent of the sound is still swallowed and at 400 Hz still ten percent. A wide range is covered with these properties. Above all, the annoying high-frequency noise of many fans is reduced particularly effectively. Lower frequencies such as booming noises are less absorbed by the material itself, but are also minimized by its own weight.

This set is designed for the PHANTEKS Eclipse P350X Midi-Tower and contains 10 insulation mats. The insulation set can also be installed without special previous knowledge. This is ensured by precisely tailored and labeled insulation mats and precise installation instructions. This is specially designed for the requirements of the housing and explains the installation step by step, gives practical tips and explains the possibilities and insulation options.

The number of mats included is sufficient to insulate the entire housing - even the fan slots. As a result, you have the choice of how much insulation to install in order to achieve an individual optimum of cooling and volume reduction.
