Intel Pentium Gold G6605 4.30 GHz (Comet Lake) Socket 1200 - boxed [Z-Machine 500]

In addition to increased clock rates compared to the 9th generation "Coffee Lake-S Refresh", "Comet Lake-S" supports higher memory clock rates and offers support for Intel WiFi 6 (Gig +). The biggest change, however, is the change to the new LGA 1200 socket. This is the same size as its predecessor, but has additional pins, so that "Come Lake-S" processors are not compatible with mainboards with a different socket are!

The Intel Pentium Gold G6505 2-core processor with SMT
Thanks to the newly optimized 14 nm manufacturing process, the Pentium Gold G6505 offers a maximum base clock of 4.3 GHz. Thanks to the low TDP value of 58 watts, the waste heat from the powerful CPU can also be managed with simple CPU coolers and is therefore suitable for installation in compact and cramped housings, for example in multimedia stations or self-made NAS computers.

With the Intel Socket LGA 1200, the 10th generation of Intel Core processors has a socket for mounting on the mainboard. This means that the processor is only compatible with Intel mainboards with the LGA 1200 socket. Even if the number of pins increases to 1200, the dimensions of the socket and the ILM (Independent Loading Mechanism) remain identical to the socket 1151/1155. This means that the corresponding CPU cooler can continue to be used without the need for a conversion kit.

The Intel HD Graphics UHD 630 is used as the integrated graphics unit. With its 24 execution units, it offers more than enough graphics power for Intel Quick Sync, GPU computing and, of course, a game or two in between. Furthermore, the graphics unit DirectX 12 with feature level 12_1, OpenGL 4.5 and OpenCL 2.0 also supports the playback of 4K, UHD resolutions at 60 Hz via DisplayPort - provided a corresponding mainboard is available.
