GTX 1070 with iChill X3 Triple Fan Cooler & Factory OC
The INNO3D GeForce GTX 1070 iChill X3 has a base clock of 1,620 MHz. With GPU-Boost 3.0 it can be boosted to a boost clock of 1,822 MHz if required. The memory clock is 4,100 MHz (effectively 8,200 MHz). To cool the graphics card, the iChill X3 cooler design is used, which relies on three expandable 92 mm fans.
The 2.5-inch X3 cooler not only transfers the heat from the GPU directly to aluminum fins via heatpipes, but also covers a large plate with RAM and voltage regulation, which increases its lifetime and significantly boosts OC potential. INNO3D calls this novelty "A.P.C.S." ("Active Power Cooling System"). The heat is dissipated via two additional 8 mm heatpipes into the outside of the X3 cooler.
At the same time, a reinforcing backplate is integrated into the radiator behind this panel, which helps to ensure that the card PCB does not bend over the long term due to the weight of the radiator. Three fans, each with 12 fan blades optimized for even more airflow at lower volume, sit on the finned block of the main cooler. Of course, the cooler can be disassembled again so far that the user can remove the rotors for super comfortable cleaning.
Thanks to intelligent fan-stop technology, the fans are switched off completely at idle and under low load. This enables semi-passive operation that not only saves energy, but also enables quiet gaming. The INNO3D GTX 1070 iChill X3 is also equipped with an LED indicator in the form of the "iChill" logo, which can display the GPU's usage in three different levels. Power is supplied via an 8-pin PCIe power plug.
GeForce GTX 1070: gaming power for VR and 4K!
The GeForce GTX 1070's 8 GB video memories are connected to the GPU via a 256-bit memory interface. The GP104 graphics chip of the GTX 1070 has 1,920 CUDA cores and the computing power of the GTX 1070 is 6.5 TFLOPS. This puts the GeForce GTX 1070 in computing power slightly above the GeForce GTX Titan X, the flagship of the Maxwell GPU series!
The GTX-1070 graphics card family supports DirectX 12 and current gaming technologies including NVIDIA Gameworks, Warp, Stereo-X, VR-Audio, PhysX, and Simultaneous Multi-Projection (SMP). The latter is supported in version 4.0 and offers great advantages, in particular for VR, curved displays and multi-display setups.
Especially when gambling in Virtual Reality (VR), gamers benefit from the new technology. With SMP 4.0, a total of 16 viewports and two viewports can be rendered in one go. By using multiple viewports, the rendered image also has a lower number of calculated pixels, which greatly improves VR performance.
The GeForce GTX 1070 has 4K / Ultra HD resolutions at 60 Hertz and three DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0b ports, with the latter featuring HDCP 2.2 for sending and receiving encrypted signals ( 4K Blu-Ray / 4K streams). Alternatively, the GTX 1070 has a DVI-D (dual-link) output.
In order to realize the full potential of the card in the future, new drivers from NVIDIA or INNO3D should be downloaded and installed at regular intervals.
