The Hydra NR-01 can be placed vertically or horizontally with the included feet. The NR-01 looks good in both situations and provides an unobstructed view of the installed hardware. The open midi-tower can thus also be used ideally as benchtable. Thanks to the modular design, Modder can let off steam and adapt the housing to its predecessors. If you want to close the case, you can use an optional Plexiglass cover. Hydra does not use rivets and does not weld the individual parts. Everything is screwed. The material is made of high-quality aluminum with a thickness of 1.5 mm.

The maximum CPU cooler height is not limited by the open housing. Gaming graphics cards can be installed up to a length of 330 mm, so the Hydra NR-01 offers enough space for powerful gaming hardware. In order to be able to cool this hardware accordingly, either air or water cooling can be used. Up to six 120 mm fans can be installed in a push-pull configuration. Alternatively, powerful water cooling with a large 360 mm radiator can be used in the front.

A special feature of this OpenMidium tower is the accommodation of the graphics card (s). With 8 PCI slots, mainboards can be recorded up to the E-ATX format. The graphics cards can either be plugged directly into the mainboard or mounted using a vertical mounting bracket. Two graphics cards can be mounted rotated by 90 degrees.

The Hydra NR-01 also does not require an optical drive. In addition to the two 2.5- and 3.5-inch drives each, a slim DVD drive can also be installed. In addition to the power button, there are two USB 3.0 ports on the I / O panel. Thanks to the modular design, plenty of space behind the mainboard tray and corresponding openings, optimized cable management can be realized.
