The Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Pro AX in detail
The Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Pro AX is an Intel Z590 motherboard in the ATX form factor and provides a total of three PCIe x16 slots for expansion cards. One slot with a total of 16 lanes is connected directly to the CPU. It supports PCIe 4.0. The other two support PCIe 3.0 and are connected with 4 lanes.

random access memory
The four DIMM slots support up to 128 GB DDR4 memory in dual-channel mode. The Z590 chipset supports clock rates of up to 3,200 MHz natively. Using OC, the Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Pro AX also enables RAM kits to be operated up to 5,000 MHz.

Drives
The Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Pro AX offers four M.2 slots for SSDs. Three of them are connected directly to the CPU with 4 lanes and support PCIe 4.0. The first only works when using a Rocket Lake CPU. Two further M.2 slots are also connected to the CPU and also work with Intel CPUs of the 10th generation, but then via PCIe 3.0. The fourth M.2 slot is connected to the chipset and supports PCIe 3.0. Six SATA 6G connections are available for additional SSDs, hard disks and optical drives.

Attention! The top M.2 slot (M.2_1) only works in combination with Intel Core CPUs of the 11th generation "Rocket Lake" and is deactivated with processors of the 10th generation "Comet Lake".

USB, network and sound
The Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Pro AX has a USB 3.2 port of type C with a maximum speed of 20 Gbit / s on the I / O panel. It also offers four USB 3.1 ports (Type A) with 10 Gbit / s and four USB 3.0 ports with 5 Gbit / s. There are also four more USB 2.0 ports. The Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Pro AX is equipped with a WLAN and Bluetooth module (Intel AX200) as well as LAN with 2.5 GBit / s (Intel 2.5GbE) for fast data transfers.
