The TPM acts as secure storage for the cryptographic key that is created using encryption software such as Windows BitLocker. Without this key, the data remains encrypted and protected against unauthorized access.
With a TPM, data is not only protected from hacker attacks on the software side, but also cannot be read if the hardware is stolen. The GIGABYTE GC-TPM 2.0_S features the SLB9665, an advanced 2048-bit crypto processor from Infineon. This fulfills industry standards such as TPM 2.0 and Common Criteria (EAL4 +).
