Phison's new PS5012-E12 controller on this fast drive supports four PCI Express 3.0 lanes. In conjunction with the built-in BiCS3-3D NAND TLC from Toshiba, this 256 GB variant of the AORUS NVMe SSD from Gigabyte achieves enormous 3,100 MB / s when reading and 1,050 MB / s when writing as well as decent IOPS values of 180,000 in 4KB -Read or 240,000 in 4KB write. Highly efficient 3D NAND TLC with 64 layers
In the BiCS3-3D NAND TLC memory of the AORUS NVMe SSD, the memory cells are stacked in a cylinder shape in several layers. On the one hand, this enables larger amounts of memory with higher read and write speeds with a smaller area of the memory blocks, and on the other hand increases the lifespan of the memory and improves energy efficiency. The AORUS NVMe SSD includes Gigabyte's massive copper heat spreader with the well-known AORUS logo from Gigabyte. Behind it are built-in RGB LEDs that let the logo and the two sides of the heat spreader shine. The lighting can be controlled via Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0 and synchronized with other AORUS products. The heat sink improves the user experience, especially when transferring large files or using applications with a high write load.
