Details
Manufactured using the 16nm FinFET process, the GP102 graphics chip is the gaming flagship of the GeForce GTX 10 series. With huge 11 GB of video memory, enormous 3,584 computing cores (CUDA cores) and high GPU clock rate is the GTX 1080 Ti ideal for playing in 4K / UHD resolution and a very good platform for experiencing virtual reality - a VR glasses as the HTC Vive provided. The GTX 1080 Ti is the absolute must-have for gamers and enthusiasts!

GTX 1080 Ti from Gainward with Phoenix Cooler
The Gainward GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Phoenix) has a base clock of 1,480 MHz. With GPU-Boost 3.0 it can be boosted to a boost clock of 1,582 MHz if required. The memory clock is 5,500 MHz (effectively 11,000 MHz). For cooling the graphics card, the 2-fan Phoenix cooler design is used.
To get the most out of NVIDIA's GPU Boost 3.0, it's important to keep the card's electronics as cool as possible. Therefore Gainward relies on its own "Phoenix" -Kühlerdesign with several heatpipes, a large aluminum radiator and two large axial fans, which ensure that sufficient fresh air is available to cool the GPU, voltage transformers, RAM and Co.. Below 60 degrees of GPU temperature, they even stop altogether ("0 db Tech"), so that the card is cooled idle in passive and thus completely silent.
GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Phoenix: Maximum gaming power for VR and 4K!
The GTX 1080 Ti's 11 GB of GDDR5X video memory is connected to the GPU via a 352-bit memory interface, resulting in a memory bandwidth of 484 GB / s. In addition to the video memory, the GPU2 graphics chip's 3,584 CUDA cores are responsible for the brutal gaming power of the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.
The GTX 1080 Ti-series graphics cards support DirectX 12 and the latest gaming technologies, including NVIDIA GameWorks, Warp, stereo X, VR-Audio, PhysX and SMP (simultaneous multi-projection). The latter is supported in version 4.0 and offers great advantages, in particular for VR, curved displays and multi-display setups.
Several monitors were simply viewed by games as a sort of broad monitor, which meant that the GPU could only render one viewport and create distortions. Thanks to SMP, Pascal now supports 16 simultaneous viewports that enable a much more realistic display on multiple monitors, on curved displays or in 3D operation.
Especially VR benefits from the new technology, because it can be equal to two viewports rendered in one go. By using multiple viewports, the rendered image also has a lower number of calculated pixels, which greatly improves VR performance.
Despite the extremely high computing power and memory expansion with 11 GB GDDR5X, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti works with a TDP of only 250 watts. The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti has state-of-the-art connectors. For image transmission of 4K / Ultra HD resolutions at 60 Hz three DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0b port are available, the latter has HDCP 2.2 and thus send encrypted and receive signals (4K Blu -Rays / 4K streams). Alternatively, the GTX 1080 Ti has a DVI-D (dual-link) output.
In order to realize the full potential of the card in the future, new drivers from NVIDIA or Gainward should be downloaded and installed at regular intervals.
