The connections of the Thunderbolt 3 Dock are distributed on the front and back of the case. On the back are all ports for permanently installed devices: Two screens with 4K resolution (4096 x 2160 pixels) can be operated simultaneously via the DisplayPort connection and one of the two Thunderbolt 3 connections at 60 Hertz. When using only one display, resolutions of up to 5120 x 2880 pixels are possible. Three Type A USB 3.0 ports offer the option of connecting additional peripherals such as portable SSDs and hard drives, and a Gigabit Ethernet connection enables integration into local, wired networks.

The Thunderbolt 3 Dock also serves as an external sound card and delivers excellent sound quality with 24 bit and 96 kHz. On the front there are two three-pole 3.5 mm jack sockets, one of which functions as a stereo sound output and one as a mono microphone input.
