Optimized output airflow of the R1 Ultimate

With the R1U Universal Cylinder Cooler, Cryorig uses seven 6mm thick heatpipes connecting the nickel plated copper baseplate to the two towers of the heatsink. The special feature is the design of the slats of the twin-tower CPU cooler. The cooling fins of the front area are 2.4 mm apart and the rear area is only 1.8 mm apart. These different distances provide by compressed air for an optimized output air flow. Cryorig calls it the Jet Fin Acceleration System. Thus, the heated air can be derived faster from the tower cooler.

The two lamella coolers of each cooling tower and the intervening heatpipes are welded together in a special soldering process, so that there is ten percent more surface contact. The heatpipes are also offset between the two lamellas, which also ensures optimal distribution of heat.

Easy and quick to install

The R1 Universal is next to Cryorigs fan XF140- even the slimmer XT140 fan at. Thus, the R1 Universal does not tower over the slots for the main memory and can also be used in addition to oversized RAM modules. As an effective anti-vibration measure four rubber dampers are embedded in the corners in each of the two fans. This dampens the vibration transmission of the fans to the slats. The fans themselves have an extremely quiet bearing, so that the noise of the entire cooler at a quiet 44 dB (A). Thanks to its outstanding performance and efficiency, the twin-tower cooler is suitable for processors with up to 240 watts TDP (Thermal Design Power).

Especially clever is the easy assembly. The backplate is fixed by hand with knurled screws. Then come the support frame for the respective CPU, which is also fastened with knurled screws. The heat sink is attached with the enclosed screwdriver. Thermal grease and a cloth to remove remains is included. Mounting brackets for an optional third fan are also included.
