The MX500 builds on these successes and delivers consistently higher transfer rates at a still attractive price. With the Silicon Motion's fast SM2258 controller and the fully integrated 64-layer Micron Micron TLC NAND, the MX500 series is up to date. The MX500 SSDs are available in different sizes, from 250 GB to 2 TB.

The 1TB variant offered here also retains the new RAIN (Redundant Array of Independent NAND) technology, which protects data from the drive in a manner similar to multi-drive RAID technology. In addition, the new Crucial MX500 also supports encryption methods such as TCG Opal 2.0, IEEE-1667 and Microsoft eDrive thanks to the AES 256-bit hardware encryption - without sacrificing speed.
Fast read and write access
The M.2 SSD in this 1TB variant communicates via the SATA 6G interface to maximize the speed of the Micron 3D TLC NAND installed here. Finally, the modern interface theoretically offers possible transfer rates of up to 600 MB / s - at these values the fast SSDs of Crucial scratch quite well. This 500 GB model has sequential read speeds of up to 560 MB / s and writes the data into the TLC flash cells with a maximum of 510 MB / s.
