The MX500 builds on these successes and delivers consistently higher transfer rates at a still attractive price. With the fast Silicon Motion SM2258 controller and the fully integrated Micron 64-layer TLC NAND, the MX500 series is up to date. The MX500 SSDs are available in different sizes, from 250 GB to 2 TB.

The 500 TB version offered here also has the new RAIN technology (Redundant Array of Independent NAND) maintained, which protects the data of the drive in a similar manner as the RAID technology with multiple drives. In addition, the new Crucial MX500 also supports encryption methods such as TCG Opal 2.0, IEEE-1667 and Microsoft eDrive thanks to the AES 256-bit hardware encryption - without sacrificing speed.

Of course, the SSD in this 500 GB version is equipped with a SATA 6G interface in order to fully utilize the speed of the Micron 3D TLC NAND installed here.
