MasterBox 540: Stylish midi tower with RGB lighting
Cooler Master equips the Midi-Tower MasterBox 540 with extensive options for placing case fans. A total of up to seven 120 or four 140 and one 120 fans can be distributed in the case: three 120 or two 140 mm fans each on the front and cover and a 120 mm model on the rear wall of the case. For large processor coolers, the manufacturer provides a maximum height of 165 mm. An RGB-illuminated 120 mm fan is preinstalled on the rear of the case from the factory.
Water cooling was also considered when developing the PC case: Triple radiators up to 360 mm in size can be attached to the front and to the lid. The rear wall also offers space for a 120 mm single radiator.
Space for drives and components
The midi tower has a drive cage with two bays for 2.5- and 3.5-inch drives as well as two carriers for 2.5-inch SSDs, which are attached to the back of the mainboard tray. An ATX power supply with a maximum length of 180 mm can be found under the power supply cover, so that very powerful power supply units, which are usually larger, can also be installed.
A total of seven expansion slots are available in the Cooler Master MasterBox 540. Thanks to the support of graphics cards with a maximum length of 410 mm, even very large versions fit into the housing without any problems.
RGB lighting and design
The housing is black on the inside and outside. The left side panel is made of tempered glass and provides a clear view of the installed components of the PC. The lavishly designed front made of transparent plastic brings out the RGB lighting installed behind it.
This is controlled via the supplied RGB controller, which is connected to a button on the I / O panel of the housing. The connection portfolio of the midi tower includes a USB 3.1 type C, two USB 3.0s and a combined jack socket for headsets.
