The design of the IX-01B has Chieftec kept relatively simple, so there is a completely black case from a steel body with breathable honeycomb structure, which can penetrate sufficiently air. The existing plastic front, however, includes two status LEDs, the power button, the Chieftec logo and a slim line, which loosens the design a bit. By magnetic feet the housing in the horizontal and vertical alignment is always a good grip.

At the back are next to the recess for the I / O Shield two more holes for the hollow plug, where eventually a HTPC PSU can be connected. In addition, there is a recess for an external wireless antenna on the back, so can guarantee optimum reception. On expansion slots is completely dispensed with IX-01B.
