Usually this value is only indirectly recorded via the pump speed on the control side - but what this has for real effects can not be deduced from this. In order to check the actual water flow, separate measuring instruments are available in the cooling circuit. These also offer the advantage that faults (such as blockages) are detected quickly and reliably.
Aqua computer presents suitable solutions for the aquero 5 and 6 series, ie XT, PRO and LT control, which has a particularly low flow resistance and is therefore also suitable for high-flow systems. In addition, the sensor was incorporated into a high-quality housing and therefore convinces with high quality and good optics.
The flow sensors of the mps flow series are technically based on a differential pressure measurement, which does not require rotating parts and thanks to the high sensitivity of the sensors used has only a minimal flow resistance. Due to this unique functional principle in the area of PC water cooling, the flow sensors of the mps flow series are extremely compact. The sensors have integrated evaluation electronics with USB and aquabus interface, a configurable alarm output, an integrated water temperature sensor and an external temperature sensor input.
For monitoring and configuration the software aquasuite is available for download. The four-pin aquabus interface also allows direct connection to an aquaero 5 controller (not included). The alarm output can optionally be configured as an artificial tacho signal for connection to a fan output with tacho signal evaluation (eg of the mainboard) or as a switching output, for example for switching an LED in the event of an alarm. For alarm monitoring, in addition to the measured flow, the water temperature and the external temperature sensor input are also available. The external temperature sensor input is compatible with all temperature sensors offered by Aqua Computer.
Note: When using connections or hoses with an inside diameter of less than 8 mm (eg plug & cool), an extension must be installed on the input side between the mps flow 200 or mps flow 400 in order to harmonize the flow in front of the sensor. Without extension, a reliable measurement in these cases is not possible!
