Dirt particles pose a considerable risk for water cooling, especially when permanently supplied. They can add to the fine structures of the coolers and the pump and thus impair function and cooling performance. Although normally no dirt particles enter the circuit, on the other hand, for example, many color additives contain suspended particles which have the same effect.
The well-known manufacturer aqua computer has taken on the problem and designed a very high-quality steel filter, which is housed in a noble housing, also an optical highlight. The body is made of black Delrin - a high-strength plastic. This is fastened by means of a stainless steel plate and four holes. The filter can be installed horizontally and vertically - for example, in the front or in the lid.
An acrylic glass panel provides insight into the interior and direct control of the filter. This will quickly tell you if cleaning is necessary. The connection is made with two G1 / 4 inch threads. These can be easily and quickly closed on the back by means of two rotary levers so that no liquid can run out for removal or cleaning.
The water is guided through the fine steel mesh and thus filtered by floating parts. The stainless steel mesh is large, which is why cleaning is rarely necessary. This should - depending on the state of soiling - nevertheless be carried out regularly, since an added filter can significantly impede the flow.
The filter can also be backlit. For this purpose, there is a 1/8 inch screw plug on the back, which can be unscrewed and replaced by a corresponding lighting kit. This lights then directly behind the filter.
