Powerful Alpenföhn Brocken White Edition CPU cooler of the third generation
The third generation of the well-known and appreciated chunk cooler from Alpenföhn is reminiscent in the overall picture of its two predecessors, but can pass due to some innovations with a further improved cooling performance of its two counterparts. Both the own experiences with the very successful Brocken 1 & 2 flowed into the design, as well as the feedback of thousands of customers, who reached the Alpenföhn-Constructors by mail and via online community.

A particularly striking difference to the direct predecessor is that the double tower design has again become a single cooling tower, whose aerodynamically optimized fins with adjusted fin spacing provide significantly better silent properties. Especially in combination with the two 140 mm Wing-Boost 3 fans, which have a fixed axial flow alignment nozzle, the fan volume was improved and the airflow on the heat sink was minimized. The result is a not insignificant performance increase of the fans, which could reduce the maximum speed compared to conventional design.

Above all, the Wing Boost 3 fan impresses with its special angle of attack of the fan blades, which means that it has been optimized to a lower speed and achieves a significantly higher volume flow, higher static pressure and a higher exit speed compared to other fans at the same speed. In addition, the aerodynamically optimized blade geometry favors the axial flow direction and provides a correspondingly better fanning out of the air flow, whereby the waste heat of the heat sink is offered more surface for discharging.

Of course, the fan can be connected in 140 mm format via a PWM connection directly to the built-in motherboard and rotates depending on the CPU temperature with a speed between 400 and 1050 rpm. Equipped with a durable Fluid Dynamic bearing, a maximum airflow of 103 m³ / h is generated at full speed and a low noise level of 19 dB. For neat draft on the chunks is so worried!

Gapless H.D.T. technology, in which the heatpipes are integrated directly into the copper bottom plate, also results in this, resulting in increased heat transfer. In addition, the Brocken 3 is again an asymmetric cooling tower design used, whereby the five silver-plated heatpipes protrude so high that the radiator is not exactly centered over the baseplate, but slightly offset to the rear.

In this way, the vast majority of motherboards on the market not a single RAM slot blocked by the cooler, even if the fan - as usual - is mounted front and thus einblasend. A working memory full equipment is here so nothing in the way. Motherboards are all boards that have the AMD sockets AM4, AM3 (+), AM2 (+), FM2 (+) and FM1 or the Intel sockets 775, 1366, 115x and 2011 (V3). Thanks to the RockMount 2 mounting system, the installation of the Brocken 3 can be simplified once more.
