In combination with the five 6 mm heatpipes and the supplied 140 mm PWM fan from the Wing-Boost-3 series, an enormous performance of the cooler can be achieved. The RockMount 2 mounting system also offers an optimized and uncomplicated installation of the cooler.

The third generation of the well-known and appreciated Brocken-Kühlers from Alpenföhn reminds in its entirety of its two predecessors, but due to some innovations with a further improved cooling capacity can pass to its two opponents. Both their own experiences with the very successful Brocken 1 & 2 were integrated into the design, as did the feedback of thousands of customers, who reached the Alpenföhn constructors via e-mail and via the online community.
A particularly striking difference from the direct predecessor is that the double tower design has once again become a single cooling tower, whose aerodynamically optimized slats with an adapted fin spacing provide significantly better silent properties. Especially in connection with the now used Wing-Boost-3 fan in the 140 mm format, which has a fixed integrated stator for the axial flow orientation, the fan volume could be improved as well as a reduction of the air flow at the heat sink. The result of this is a not negligible increase in the performance of the fan, whereby the maximum speed could be reduced to alternative layouts.

The Wing-Boost-3 fan is particularly convincing because of its special angle of pitch of the fan blades, which has been optimized to a lower speed and achieves significantly higher volume flow, higher static pressure and a higher exit speed compared to other fans at the same speed. Moreover, the aerodynamically optimized blade geometry favors the axial direction of flow and provides a correspondingly better fan-out of the air stream, which means that the waste heat of the cooler provides more area for removal.
Of course, the fan can be connected directly to the installed mainboard in a 140 mm format via a PWM connection and rotates depending on the CPU temperature at a speed between 400 and 1050 rpm. Equipped with a long-lasting fluid dynamic bearing, a maximum airflow of 103 m³ / h is achieved at full speed and a noise level of less than 19 dB. So there's plenty of drafts on the chunk!
Likewise, the Gapless H.D.T. technology, in which the heatpipes are integrated directly into the copper base plate, results in an increased heat transfer. In addition, an asymmetrical cooling tower design is used for the Brocken 3, as a result of which the five silver-plated heatpipes protrude in such a way that the radiator is not exactly centered over the baseplate, but slightly offset backwards.
In this way, the majority of the mainboards on the market do not block a single RAM slot from the cooler, even if the fan is mounted as usual, in the front and thus in the airflow. There is nothing in the way of a complete storage of workstations. As motherboards, all boards with the AMD socket AM4, AM3 (+), AM2 (+), FM2 (+) and FM1 or Intel sockets 775, 1366, 115x and 2011 (V3) are eligible. Thanks to the RockMount 2 mounting system, the installation of the Brocken 3 can be simplified even more easily.
