Akasa Lokstor M26 5.25 inch to 1x 2.5 inch, incl. Card reader and USB 3.0 [AK-IEN-09]

The Lokstor M26 (AK-IEN-09) is mounted in a free 5.25-inch housing slot for external drives and connected to the mainboard using the supplied SATA cable. The USB port is connected via an internal 19-pin connector.

Once connected, the cradle can be used as a docking station, which means that the 2.5-inch drive (which can not be more than 9.5 mm) can be pushed one over the other and then rest on high-quality, stainless steel Sheet.

When the user presses the respective aperture, the SSD or HDD locks and the power and data contact to the SATA connector on the rear end of the interchangeable frame is established. The drive is then automatically registered to the system (if it supports hot-swap technology).

To eject a drive, a short handle is sufficient, and a spring mechanism is activated to open the shutter and push the drive out of the rear contacts. To prevent unintentional removal of the 2.5-inch drive, the lever can be locked using the supplied key.

The drive can even be easily disabled via a small switch, which is especially useful when the HDD / SSD is only needed temporarily (eg as backup disks). Silicone suspensions decouple the entire frame from the 5.25-inch shaft, so that less vibrations are transmitted to the housing.

Once a drive is installed, a small LED light indicates its activity. Fortunately, the Lokstor M26 supports all SATA standards from SATA I via SATA II to the modern SATA 6G with a transmission rate of up to 5 Gbps and therefore does not slow down fast SSDs and hard drives unnecessarily.

In addition to the HotSwap option, the Lokstor M26 also offers a USB 3.0 port as well as a 5-way card reader for the most common formats.
