Thanks to the Intel Xeon processor support, the motherboard is ideal as a motherboard for servers and workstations. With its ATX form factor, the WS C246 Pro fills the mainboard trays of common cases and offers extensive expansion options.

Note: The following specifications regarding the PCIe lanes, connection of the M.2 slots and connection of the PCIe slots refer to the combination of the C246 chipset with an Intel Xeon E-2100 CPU or Intel Core CPU of the 8th and 8th 9th generation! The ASUS WS C246 Pro in detail
The ASUS WS C246 Pro is an ATX motherboard with an Intel C246 chipset and provides a total of four PCIe x16 slots for expansion cards. The upper slot is connected directly to the CPU with a total of 16 lanes and supports PCIe 3.0. One slot has eight, two further slots are connected to the chipset of the mainboard with four lanes each. These are suitable for the use of expansion cards. In addition, the mainboard offers two PCIe x1 slots.

random access memory
Up to 128 GB DDR4 memory can be operated in four DIMM slots in dual-channel mode. The board supports RAM speeds of 2,666 MHz natively.

Drives
The WS C246 Pro offers a total of two M.2 slots for SSDs. Four SATA 6G connections are also available for additional SSDs, hard disks and optical drives.

USB, network and sound
The I / O panel provides an HDMI, a DisplayPort, a VGA and a DVI-D video output for image output via the processor's iGPU. A total of one USB 3.1 type C port, one USB 3.1 type A port and four USB 3.0 type A ports are available for gaming peripherals.

The audio output is via five 3.5 mm jack plugs and an optical S / PDIF output, which are connected to the Realtek ALC887 sound chip.
