PCIe 4.0 is backwards compatible and can be used with all expansion cards of previous generations. Per PCIe 4.0 lane, a data transfer rate twice as high as PCIe 3.0 is possible, so that an NVMe SSD connected via four PCIe 4.0 lanes can achieve a theoretical read/write speed of up to 7.8 GB/s. Each motherboard with the X570 chipset is also suitable for all other AMD CPU series for socket AM4.

ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Pro Wifi II is an ATX-sized motherboard with extensive RGB LED lighting on the chipset cooler and I/O panel cover. The lighting can be controlled via the manufacturer's Armory Crate software. Additional RGB LED components can be connected and controlled via two 4-pin RGB headers (12V) and one digitally addressable 3-pin RGB header (5V), provided they are compatible with the motherboard's RGB software.

For graphics cards, a PCIe 4.0 slot in x16 format is available, which is directly connected to the Ryzen 3000 processor via a total of 16 PCIe 4.0 lanes. Another PCIe x16 slot is connected to the chipset via 4 lanes (PCIe 4.0 on Ryzen 3000; PCIe 3.0 on all previous generations). Two PCIe x1 slots are also available for plug-in and expansion cards.

Faster connections thanks to PCI Express 4.0
The Ryzen 3000 CPUs provide four PCIe 4.0 lanes for direct connection to NVMe SSDs. On this X570 motherboard, these four lanes are used to connect a single M.2 slot for NVMe SSDs. In addition to another M.2 slot with x4 connection, the X570 chipset also provides eight SATA 6G ports.

On the I/O panel, the ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Pro Wifi II offers three USB 3.1 ports, one with Type-C and two with Type-A jack. USB 3.1 or USB 3.2 Gen 2 achieves maximum speeds of 10 Gbps per port and USB ports with this standard usually support the fast charging function of smartphones and tablets, while the new USB Type-C port is particularly thin and can be plugged in on both sides. In addition, there are four USB 3.0 Type A ports.
