If the end device also supports Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO), the transmission rates can be bundled and ideally reach up to 5,400 Mbit / s. The generously dimensioned 1,500 MHz tri-core SoC BCM6750 from Broadcom, which accesses 512 MB RAM and 256 MB flash memory, is partly responsible for this performance. Thanks to AiMesh, a single SSID is sufficient for the entire WLAN network, to which the ASUS RT-AX82U WLAN router can also be further added. The integrated software takes care of the automatic assignment of the devices when they switch from one router to the other.

Thanks to the intuitive ASUSWRT configuration interface, the ASUS RT-AX82U AX5400 AiMesh system is quick to set up on the one hand, and on the other hand it offers enough options for professionals who want to tweak one or two screws to get the last bit of performance out of the device. For the security conscious, the router offers a VPN client thanks to PPTP support and can also be used as a VPN server. In addition, ASUS has integrated protection software that, among other things, fends off attacks from the Internet.
