The ASUS PRIME Z590M-PLUS is an Intel Z590 motherboard in the Micro-ATX form factor and provides a total of two PCIe x16 slots for expansion cards. One of these slots with 16 lanes is connected directly to the CPU and supports PCIe 4.0. The second slot supports PCIe 3.0 and is connected to the chipset with 4 lanes. The mainboard offers two PCIe x1 slots for additional plug-in and expansion cards.

The four DIMM slots support up to 128 GB DDR4 memory in dual-channel mode. The Z590 chipset supports clock rates of up to 3,200 MHz natively, but via OC the ASUS PRIME Z590M-PLUS also enables the operation of RAM kits up to 5,133 MHz.

Drives
The ASUS PRIME Z590M-PLUS offers three M.2 slots for SSDs. One is connected directly to the CPU with four 4 lanes and supports PCIe 4.0. It uses the four additional PCI Express lanes from Rocket Lake. The other two M.2 slots are connected to the chipset with PCIe 3.0. Five SATA 6G connections are available for additional SSDs, hard disks and optical drives.

USB, network and sound
The ASUS PRIME Z590M-PLUS has a USB 3.2 port with a maximum speed of 20 Gbit / s on the I / O panel.
