The ASUS PRIME H470-PLUS gaming motherboard in ATX form factor offers two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots for plug-in and expansion cards. The first x16 slot is connected with a full 16 lanes, the second with four lanes. Four additional x1 slots are available for additional PCIe cards.

Up to 128 GB DDR4 RAM in dual-channel mode can be used in the four DIMM slots. The H470 chipset supports clock rates up to 2933 MHz, depending on the Comet Lake CPU installed. Two M.2 slots for PCIe / SATA M.2 SSDs and six SATA 6G connectors enable storage drives to be connected. Both M.2 slots are connected to the chipset with four PCIe lanes and support the NVMe protocol, which enables data transfer rates of just under 4 GB / s. This makes M.2 PCIe SSDs up to eight times faster than SATA 6G SSDs!

The ASUS PRIME H470-PLUS Gaming has a USB 3.1 port on the I / O panel with a Type-C socket. These are particularly thin and can be inserted on both sides. USB 3.1 or USB 3.2 Gen 2 reaches maximum speeds of 10 Gbit / s per port.
