B550 mainboards support all the features of the Ryzen processors of the third and fourth generation, especially the PCI Express standard in version 4.0 (PCIe 4.0). PCIe 4.0 is backward compatible and can be used with all expansion cards from previous generations. The ASRock B550 PG Velocita is an ATX mainboard and has a PCI Express 4.0 slot with full x16 connection plus a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot with four lanes for graphics cards. The motherboard provides two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots for additional expansion cards. The four RAM banks support up to 128 GB DDR4 RAM with a clock rate of up to 3200 megahertz and can even handle clock rates up to 4733 MHz via OC.

The AM4 motherboard provides two M.2 slots. One of the slots is connected with four PCI Express 4.0 lanes and accepts plug-in cards up to 80 mm (2280).
