Details

After "Zen", "Zen +" and "Zen 2", this is the fourth generation of Zen micro-architecture. Compared to the previous generation, each processor core now has access to the entire L3 cache, which significantly increases the performance in games. In addition, the Ryzen 5000 processors offer a significantly increased per-clock performance and a higher boost clock.

The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G supports the PCI Express 3.0 standard. All Ryzen 5000 processors use the proven AM4 platform and were developed for use with AMD chipsets of the 500 series. An update to the BIOS version AGESA 1.0.8.0 or newer is required.

The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G at a glance:
AMD Ryzen 7
Eight "Zen 3" cores with only 65 watts of thermal design power (TDP)
16 threads thanks to simultaneous multithreading (SMT)
Very high single and multi-thread performance
Base clock of 3.8 GHz and 4.6 GHz Turbo with Precision Boost 2
Integrated Radeon Vega 8 GPU with 8 CUs / 512 shaders / 2,000 MHz clock
Fast PCI Express 3.0 interface
Auto-Overclocking Precision Boost Overdrive
Free multiplier for manual overclocking (unlocked CPU)
Large cache memory: 4 MB L2 and 16 MB L3
Highly efficient, non-planar 7 nanometer FinFET transistors
AVX2 instruction set extension for complex vector calculations
Two AES units for fast, reliable data encryption
Compatible with the AMD AM4 processor socket
Natively supports DDR4-RAM with 3,200 MHz (dual-channel)
Including AMD Wraith Stealth CPU cooler!

The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G 8-core CPU with 4.6 GHz Precision Boost 2
AMD Ryzen 7 5700G Box The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G has eight physical CPU cores that can each process two threads at the same time thanks to Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT). This effectively doubles the number of computing cores with the additional eight virtual cores to 16. The octa-core processor works with a high base clock rate of 3.8 GHz per core, which adapts precisely to the respective application scenario in real time using Precision Boost 2 and from 65 watts up to within the scope of the Thermal Design Power (TDP) 4.6 GHz Turbo increased.
The silicon of the CPU cores is lithographed in the advanced 7 nm FinFET manufacturing process with stacked transistors (also called 3D transistors) using Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) technology. The space gained on the processor die thanks to the greatly reduced structure sizes enables the integration of a total of 4 MB level 2 cache and a full 16 MB level 3 cache, which are particularly important for games.

The I / O chiplet in the CPU package responsible for the data lines is produced using 12-nanometer FinFET production and provides 20 PCIe lanes, four of which are used to connect to the mainboard chipset and to connect NVMe SSDs are reserved. This leaves 12 lanes for communication with graphics cards, while additional PCIe lanes are provided for additional data carriers, expansion cards and peripheral devices depending on the mainboard chipset.

PCI-Express 3.0 with AMD X570 or B550 chipset
AMD Ryzen 7 Box The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G supports the PCI Express standard in version 3.0. PCIe 3.0 is backwards compatible and allows the use of expansion cards of all previous generations.
The AM4 platform also provides external device connections such as USB 3.1 with type A and / or type C plugs and high data transfer rates of up to 10 Gbit / s. The integrated memory controller of the CPU supports fast and energy-efficient DDR4 working memory in dual-channel mode without ECC error correction at a native clock frequency of 3,200 MHz, whereby significantly higher clock rates are possible through overclocking.

AMD Vega - Highly efficient graphics chips for the desktop
AMD Ryzen Vega
The special thing about the APUs of the "Cezanne" series is the integrated Radeon graphics unit based on the Vega architecture. This merges the CPUs with "Zen 3" architecture and the graphics chips with Vega architecture to form an efficient and powerful APU. The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G APU is equipped with the Vega 8 GPU. In this expansion stage, the graphics chip has eight compute units with a total of 512 shaders. The GPU base clock is 2,000 MHz.

Automatic overclocking through Precision Boost Overdrive
Precision Boost Overdrive: With the AMD Zen 3, hardly anyone has to worry about overclocking, because the CPU regulates it all by itself: the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G is equipped with the Precision Boost Overdrive auto-OC feature, which controls the processor clock The factory-set limit of the maximum boost clock can be increased, provided that sufficient CPU cooling is ensured.
Unlocked CPU: Manual overclocking thanks to the free multiplier
In addition, all AMD Ryzen CPUs are "unlocked" and have - as usual with the "Black Editions" and "K" versions of earlier model series - a free multiplier, so that overclockers can easily access the high clock rates by hand in the BIOS or UEFI or by means of Software tools (e.g. AMD Ryzen Master) can further increase, provided a corresponding motherboard with an OC-capable chipset and sufficient additional cooling.
