Overview

The GeForce GTX 1080 high-end graphics card with Pascal architecture is a milestone in NVIDIA's graphics card history. Built in the 16-nm FinFET process, the GP104 graphics chip of the GTX 1080 is a big step forward. The "Pascal" GPU architecture has many improvements over the predecessor "Maxwell".

Details

At the GTX 1080 the new GDDR5X video RAM is used for the first time. The GTX 1080 is the absolute must-have for gamers and enthusiasts! This mini-variant is particularly suitable for more compact systems in which the available space is limited.
The features of the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 Mini at a glance

Compact mini-variant for small systems
High base clock of the GPU: 1.620 MHz
Enormous boost clock of the GPU: 1.759 MHz
Very fast memory clock: 5,000 MHz (effectively 10,000 MHz)
An 8-pin power connector
GeForce GTX 1080 Mini with factory overclocking

The ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 Mini has a base clock of 1.620 MHz. With GPU-Boost 3.0 it can be raised to a boost clock of 1.759 MHz. The storage clock is at 5,000 MHz (effectively 10,000 MHz). An efficient dual-fan cooler is used to cool the graphics card, which does not occupy much space on the compact PCB and is therefore very suitable for smaller gaming systems.

To ensure that NVIDIA's GPU Boost 3.0 is as good as possible, it is important that the electronics of the board remain as cool as possible, so ZOTAC uses its own "IceStorm" cooler design with several heatpipes, a large-area cooling block made of aluminum fins and two large axial fans that ensure that there is always enough fresh air to cool GPU, voltage transformers, RAM and more. In addition, the PCB is stabilized by a backplate.
GeForce GTX 1080: Maximum gaming power for VR and 4K!

The 8GB GDDR5X video memory of the GTX 1080 is connected to the GPU via a 256-bit memory interface, which achieves a memory bandwidth of 320 GB / s. In addition to the video memory, the 2.560 CUDA cores of the GP104 graphics chip are responsible for the brutal gaming power of the GeForce GTX 1080.

The GTX-1080 graphics card family supports DirectX 12 and current gaming technologies, including NVIDIA GameWorks, Warp, Stereo-X, VR-Audio, PhysX and SMP (Simultaneous Multi-Projection). The latter is supported in version 4.0 and offers great advantages, especially for VR, curved displays and multi-display setups.

Several monitors were viewed by games as a kind of broad monitor, rendering the GPU just a viewport and creating distortions. Thanks to SMP, Pascal now supports 16 simultaneous viewports, which allow a much more realistic display on several monitors, on curved displays or in 3D mode.

VR is particularly benefiting from the new technology, because two viewports can be rendered in a single pass. By using multiple viewports, the rendered image also comes with a smaller number of calculated pixels, which greatly improves VR performance.

Despite the extremely high computing power and memory expansion with 8 GB GDDR5X, the GeForce GTX 1080 works with a TDP of only 180 watts, which is compared to the direct predecessor GTX 980 only 15 watts more - at a significantly higher speed. Thanks to the reworked power supply of the GTX 1080 PCB, the new five-phase power supply (in the reference layout) of the GPU and the various optimization of the PCB increase the energy efficiency compared to the GTX 980 by a whopping six percent.

The GeForce GTX 1080 has state-of-the-art connections. A total of three DisplayPort 1.4 and an HDMI 2.0b connection are available for an image transmission of 4K / Ultra HD resolutions at 60 hertz, the latter having HDCP 2.2 and thus able to send and receive encrypted signals (4K-Blu -Rays / 4K streams). Alternatively, the GTX 1080 has a DVI-D (dual-link) output.

In order to make full use of the card's full potential, new drivers from NVIDIA or ZOTAC should be downloaded and installed at regular intervals.
Graphics card exchange without waiting for caseking!

During the warranty period of two years from the receipt of the goods, the customer complains that the graphics card, which has been confirmed by us, of all the brands mentioned below, is directly exchanged against new goods (if stored). A sending of the faulty goods to the manufacturer and associated longer waiting times are thus completely eliminated! If the graphic card to be replaced is no longer available or available, we will issue a credit note. Then an alternative graphic card from our range can be freely selected.
