The modular Dual-Chamber design of the Thermaltake Core X5 allows the installation of a custom water cooling system with a huge radiator surface as well as space for expansion tanks and pumps. Two 360- or 280-mm radiators or a single radiator with 360 x 180 mm can be installed in the cover, while the floor can also accommodate a maximum of two 360 mm radiators - if no PSU is installed. Alternatively, a 360-degree heat exchanger mounted on the side can be attached so that in this case, a PSU can also be placed in the chamber.

A maximum of radiators up to 180/280/360 mm can be installed in the front so that a very large area is available for radiators - especially if two stackers are stacked on top of each other. In this case, two systems can be cooled by a cooling circuit to get maximum performance out of the gaming hardware. Those who rely on air cooling can look forward to mounting areas for a maximum of 19 (!) 120 mm, seven 140 mm or three 200 mm fans.

The mainboard up to the E-ATX form factor is mounted on the back lying on the intermediate floor of the two chambers. For example, between the front panel and the mainboard, GTs can be installed over the entire height of the cubicle, while two slots on the floor allow the installation of a power supply. Graphics cards may be up to 480 mm in length without restriction and the maximum length of the graphics card (s) is limited by placing a GTC or radiator in the front.

In the Mesh Front, there are three screens for external drives, which are internally modularized over three drive brackets. These also limit the maximum length of graphics cards, depending on the placement, and, in addition to a 5.25-inch drive, the brackets can alternatively accommodate a 3.5-inch HDD or two SSDs. Up to three additional 2.5-inch data storages can be installed on modular supports in the lower chamber, while two modular drive cages allow the installation of two HDDs or SSDs.

The I / O panel can be mounted on the left or right side of the front panel and is equipped with two USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports as well as audio connectors. The two sides with a large mesh surface or a window are interchangeable and both the cover and the front offer air inlets in the form of mesh meshes. The (stackable) Thermaltake Core X5 ATX-Cube can be convincing with its modularity and the large possible radiator surface for custom water cooling, which makes the case for enthusiast systems predestined.
