The Leadex series marks the successful entry of the manufacturer into the real high-end segment: With outstanding performance at low volume, the Leadex family has been the benchmark for performance power supplies since the end of 2013. With the brand-new Leadex II series, SuperFlume is now replacing the fully-modular 80-plus gold power supplies. Both the optics and the technology under the hood have been further improved in order to continue to set the benchmark in the performance segment.

Under the hood, the new Leadex II platform will be available for all models from 650 to 1,200 watts of power - from its own development and production. Compared to its predecessors, the new models have once again been clearly optimized for operation in the European 230-volt power grid. All Leadex II Gold are 80-plus-gold 230V-EU certified to ensure over 92% efficiency at medium load. At a low load of 20 percent, at least 90 percent efficiency is achieved, with full load reaching 89 percent.

The offered 850W snow-white model also fulfills the requirements of 80 plus gold at 115 Volt input voltage at 750 watts of reduced power. In the European 230-volt grid, on the other hand, 850 watts can be obtained permanently, even at extreme ambient temperatures of 50 degrees Celsius. What sounds a bit complicated at first is proving to be very beneficial for European users: the guaranteed efficiency is higher by up to three percentage points. This means that Leadex power supplies will continue to be the most economical voltage converters in the future.

Of course, this also benefits the company's operating capacity: the higher the efficiency, the less waste heat and the less cooling. The Leadex II operates semi-passively, if desired. The fan is permanently at low to medium load. Due to the low fan speed and the FDB bearing, the power supply remains extremely quiet even during active operation. Compared to conventional ball bearings, FDB bearings are much quieter, while they also clearly exceed simple plain bearings with regard to their service life.

In order to achieve high efficiency, SuperFlower uses state-of-the-art technology: the Leadex II platform relies on LLC resonance conversion in the primary range and DC-DC down-conversion for the +3.3 and +5 volt rail. By means of this form of independent voltage regulation, the output voltages remain always close to the desired value, even in demanding test scenarios (for example asymmetrical loads). If required, the total rated power can be recalled as a + 12 volt voltage. Combined with the low residual ripple, Leadex II is ideal for demanding configurations and overclocking projects.

SuperFlower is clearly setting high standards when it comes to equipping with semiconductors and capacitors. On the main board, only 105-degree electrolytic capacitors of Japanese brands as well as polymer-solid capacitors are installed. On the connector board for modular cable management, 105-degree electrolytic capacitors of Taiwanese A-brands are used. In combination with the sophisticated fan control and the long-lasting FDB fan, the average life expectancy exceeds 100,000 hours. In addition to the 20 + 4-pin connector for the mainboard, there are two 4 + 4-pin connectors for up to two high-end processors and a total of four 6+ 2-pin PCIe connector for the graphics cards.
