Aluminum outer plates act as a passive CPU cooler

The monolithic design masterpiece consists of a sturdy base frame enclosed by four removable outer plates of extruded aluminum with a sand-blasted surface in silver and a black cover plate of acrylic. These splendid aluminum plates look not only ingenious, the intelligent shape also corresponds to a convection surface and thus follows their function as heat sink for the processor installed inside. The latter is connected to the outer plates by means of a flexibly lockable universal CPU cooler with four copper heatpipes for heat dissipation and may have a TDP of 65 watts maximum (expandable to 110 watts by means of optional heatpipes).

By removing the cover plate and all four side parts, the Mini ITX motherboard is very easy to mount on a tray which is fixed in the middle and can also be removed. On the back of the tray, either a 3.5-inch HDD, two 2.5-inch SSDs / HDDs, or an optional ODD Slim Slim-In-Drive optical kit can be attached. Two PCI slots allow the installation of dual-slot expansion cards, which can be up to 200 millimeters long and 116 millimeters high. Therefore, PCIe power connectors must be used for the corresponding graphics cards. A detailed manual helps with the assembly and ensures that all components reach the right place.

The I / O panel of the cube has two USB 3.0 ports and a Kensington lock and, like the connectors on the motherboard, points down, but is easily accessible at one corner. For the power supply of the mini system, Streacoms provides the proprietary ZF240 ZeroFlex Fanless power supply, which however is not included and can be found under this link in the caseking shop. Alternatively, the power can be supplied by an optional NanoPSU (click here) and external notebook power supply. Other drives can be accommodated variably using universal brackets on the chassis behind the mainboard tray, allowing up to 5x 3.5-inch and 12x 2.5-inch drives.
