This fan is equipped with the unique S-FDB (Sony Fluid dynamic bearing) bearing technology which was developed b y the SONY corporation.

The S-FDB technology drastically reduces the friction between bearing and fan spindle which makes the fan almost inaudible for human hearing. Additional stabilizing magnets improve the balance of the magnetic forces inside of the motor which furthermore reduces noise.

Another reduction of noise emission is achieved using a linear drive IC which reduced electromagnetic noise from the fan.

The S-FDB structure is filed for patenting and gives the fan a lifespan of up to 150.000 hours.

The S-FDB uses the surface contact mechanism to improve the anti-shock structure which is 5 times stronger than with a conventional ball bearing.
